Thanks Gary. Its a real boost to get some positive feedback from āsteel worldā. Over this side of the pond, most folk play āwith an American accentā as Ken Byng said to me recently. Unfortunately I can only play the tunes in my head and these are what they sound like.
Hell yeah, great tones too! I sent you an email but just In case you didnāt see, are you on Instagram? I have a page (@austinsteelguitarclub) that I post mostly about local steel players and their gigs but Iād love to post about your record and hopefully draw a few folks to your bandcamp. Is that cool with you?
Calum,
Thereās definitely something special here. Great use of effects and dynamics, and itās very enjoyable to listen to all the way through. My favorite song is āVāetudeā. Itās triumphant sounding and your playing especially shines to me on that track. Just purchased. Thanks!
Thanks folks and yes Gary, post away! My promotional skills are somewhat limited.
Even the QR code I used on this post doesnāt work anymore as it was far from being the āfree offerā I thought Iād signed up to!

Calum,
I followed the link to Bandcamp from one of your earlier posts (same link in the quote above) and was able to listen to the whole album for free, so that much is working. Happy to purchase and support after being given a chance to listen for free.
Can you share any background on the recording, like your PSG, E9 or C6 (or both), amp(s), effects, recording setup?
Hi Ben
Glad its working! Iām going to try and get some more info on the site about how it was recorded and gear used but as a quick taster, these were all recorded live into a Zoom H4n (apart from one) and the stereo files edited and eqād etc using Logic with UA soft and hardware. I have a small pile of mono synths that do the drones, randomly fighting each other and the rest is all steel with FX built up in a Pigtronics looper. I have an MSA Legend 12 string ext E9 and the really low stuff is a Sierra 14 string extremely extended D9.
This might be the best venue Iāve ever played in! Tried out some of the album tracks with an audience and it was pretty āspiritualā! St Vincents Chapel in Edinburgh. Fantastic!
