windows 10 Media player dirty trick!

Post by Stuart Legg »

I play My rendered BIAB video (avi) in windows 10 media player and for some reason it becomes a (BT1) and then Media player won't recognize it. I can't restore it and I can't find any other program that will play it.
My first question is why would Media player do such a dirty trick?
My second question is how do I resolve the dirty trick?

Doing a search for bt1 file I come up with many hits that suggest malware infection.
Do a complete antivirus scan and also a malware scan with Malwarebytes, in case you have malware.

Stuart,

Do you have Band-in-a-Box? Band-in-a-Box uses bt1 files.

yes I have BIAB they are BIAB videos. However they save on my PC as an AVI until I play them in Windows Media Player and then they become BT1. That would be OK if I could find something that would play a BT1.
I now render the videos from BIAB and then use VLC Media Player for all avi and I have no problems but VlC won't recognize BT1. So I'm shiiit out of luck on my previous BIAB videos.
