10-1 pickup in a Mullen G2
I’ve started playing in a venue that has everything in the world that can cause single coil hum. As much as I love the pup that’s in there, a humbucker seems inevitable. Not being a huge fan of 705s, I’m considering a GL 10-1. Have any of you Mullen guys had any experience with these?

10-1 pick-up
Now friends, this is my opinion so don’t rant or rave on me. But I absolutely cannot stand a George L pick up. They never worked for me as far as tone. I don’t like the brightness of them at all. If they work for you- Great! Now, having saying that, I purchased a steel as of late and it has a 10-1 on the C6 neck. The gentleman I purchased it from feels the same way I do about the George L. But, the 10-1 on the C 6 is an absolute winner for me. The tone is rich and full. I hope that helps on your decision.

David,
I have to say that I agree with you as far as not liking George L pickups....that is until I bought a BMI universal with a George L 12-5 in it.....I’m not sure if the 12-5 is wired like a 12-1 which is the 12 string version of the 10-1, but with the switching capabilities of the 12-5, I can coax a lot of tones, both single coil and humbucker out of my setup...Frankly I’m surprised that the 12-5 is no longer available.....Jim
Btw...funny thing is the switch has 6 positions !!...go figure
