I just picked up a 1960 1000 on ebay. I found this manual on the web and it was really helpful getting started with it. http://www.edusoft.ca/1000/

I strung the two necks in A6 and E7. I would be curious to know what other people use on an 8 string pedal steel setup.

ebb uses a Sneeky B6th with 9 pedals. The first 8 FP are exactly like Pete's. The 9th FP is a hybrid.

This is on a modified 400 8-string. I'd be curious to see some E-based setups on the 8-string necks. Less is more??

<font face="monospace" size="3"><pre>
---0--1---2---3---4---5---6--LKL-
1--G#---------A-----------G-----
2--E--F-----------Eb-------------
3--B------C#----------Bb---------
4--G#---------A-----------G-----
5--E--------------Eb-----------F#
6--D-----------------------------
7--B------C#----------Bb---------
8--E-----------------------------
</pre></font>

...not sure if the formatting will come through, so I may have to edit a bit...

I borrowed this from Al Perkins' copedent, which I came across in the back to the Winston book. The LKL is a retrofit, but the 6 pedals were there when I got the steel from big brother.

I needed a ton of easily accessible chords, and this does the job beautifully.

Happy Holidays
