4th string returning sharp on super pro help

broke a 4th string E9th replace it with 015 gauge
adjusted the travel a little but when i lower it comes back sharp. don't know if it's getting hung up on the raise or what moved the rod up to another hole but still have trouble when i lower the E's i have to bump my knee lever to come back in pitch?? may be the roller nut ?? help.

Various people have reported this problem recently, and the consensus is to check the roller nut first.

Did you have a .014" on before?

Yes there was a 014 on there before. I didn't have another 014 so I put a 015 on . that might be the problem??

Going up a gauge has increased the tension in the string by about 7%, and the friction at the top of the changer finger and at the roller nut will have gone up by the same factor.

This will worsen the hysteresis effect that Georg describes so well, perhaps increasing it from negligible to noticeable.

If you were happy with a 14 then I'm sure you can be happy again

Do you have some slack in the pull rods for the B pedal raise and the E lever raise? You need a smidge at rest for the rods to float.

Use your hand to home the finger, is it getting all the way home after you release the lever? If was ok with the old string i'll bet the rod nylon adjuster is tight up against the puller scissor, back it off a turn see if returns to pitch.
