Depending on condition, (on ebay) they usually bring $300-$500.

Aren't those two different manufacturers?

1. Gibson Electraharp
2. Harlin Multikord

Early Gibsons and Multi-Kords are often confused because they were similar. So similar, in fact, that Gibson was forced to re-design their first pedal steel so as not to infringe on Harlin's (Multi-Kord) design.

The value of each is not so different, considering Harlin made thousands more pedal steels than Gibson did.

The album cover was a reversed negative of a MultiKord, if I'm not mistaken. I wonder if Buddy ever played one?? He certainly didn't record the album inside that cover with one!
Was that his first album?
[This message was edited by Doug Seymour on 08 November 2006 at 05:32 PM.]

Doug- How are you doing? I heard Buddy made that album with a Fender.

Donny-Yes Gibson had their own Electra-Harp and it did have similar changer head, 8 stings and 6 pedals.
But otherwise it was a cabinet all the way to the floor on three sides, pedals hooked up to solid rods, didn't bounce around on cables like the Multi-Kord. They made about 15 before WW II and stopped during the War, Then never resumed building that model. I got a used one in 1946 (lucky me) and played it for about 15 years professionally. In those days 40's early 50's I was lucky to have one fo the few pedal guitars, but I didn't play "country" until about 1968 to 1980, by then I had my first.D12 MSA., Sho-Bud,Emmons etc...al Image

I have one at the shop for sale- donated by the legendary Bob Meeks- I suppose $250 would be a good price for it (no case). Bob paid me almost that to restore it so the $$ would go back to him.

Jim - which do you have? A Multikord or Electraharp?

Too bad it sounds like a cash thing, I'd be looking for trade bait...
