Just half way there, and think I will have to do it twice to get rid of all the paint (not to mention the sticky residue from gaffer tape that was applied probably in the 1970s...), so this will take some time, but I already wanted to ask for advice on what to do about the spots where the fabric is broken, and what sort of laquer (or varnish) might be applied at the end?
Any advice much appreciated!

PS - the left over paint stripper was from when I removed silver paint from the lid of a 1920s harmonium/pump organ, the rest of which has a dark wood finish. What is the problem with some people and paint?!
