I'm still waiting to here from those of you with a laquer finish, wood neck, Rains guitar, VS, a mica finish. Tonal differences, and tuning issues, if there are any. I'm thinking about ordering a SD-10, but I've only talked to one steel player with an all wood axe. Maybe they only built one. Thanks, J. W.

The only Rains guitar that I know of with a laquered body and wood necks is the beautiful blue one that belongs to Charlie Tryon.

John I think mine was the first all wood guitar that Rains made. I know they have done some wood with metal necks. I love the sound and as far as staying in tune I have had zero problems. I'm getting ready to order another one as soon as I sell my Williams. The williams is a great guitar as well but I think I want two Rains as i leave one setup in the living room at all times.
