I've never had the 710's on any of my steels but i can HIGHLY reccomend the LXR's . It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get them from the mfgr but they were worth the wait.
From a friend who has used both i hear that the 710's are a bit more on the bright side, where the LXR's are more to the mid side. I have the LXR's on my Mullen and they are THE ones I prefer after trying 2 other sets of single coils. Another friend has the 710's on his Derby, which i played , and the highs did come through well but not to the point of irritation.
I'm sure that someone else can give you a more educated comparison , this is my 2 cents worth. The LXR is a great p/u , just seem to be hard to get. However, i ordered 2 more 0n 05/18 from Bobbe Seymour and they will arrive today , 05/20 , but i understand they were the last 2 he had. I also recommend contacting Bobbe, Dan , or the young lady(can't recall her name, was busy lookin at her voice
) at Steel Guitar Nashville BEFORE going to anywhere for anything steel related. Hope this helps some, God bless-----Skip
