I had Sonny build me a 12 string to explore an extended Alkire tuning. Sonny says it should ship Friday. Need a case. Anyone have any "go to lowes and buy" type suggestions?

Sonny's 12 string arrived about an hour ago and I've been playing it for the last 30 minutes. Beautiful instrument, sounds great.
Highly recommend picking up one of Sonny's creations. Beautiful job

I was just looking for a case for my Emmons lap steel and came upon the same solution: look into gun cases. I found this:
https://www.amazon.com/Plano-Weather-Ta ... B07BD2J2YS
There are 36” models too. Looks like great hard shell protection. And the foam comes pre-scored in a grid so you can pluck out the exact contour and depth of the instrument.
I think that Granger also has a similar model for sake around $40-50.
Good luck with the steel (and a case)!

The custom 12 String just arrived and sounds fantastic. Many thanks to Sonny Jenkins for building such an incredible instrument. It is in an extended Alkire tuning. Bottom to Top: E A C# E F F# G G# A B C# E

Sounds like it looks John.
I put this extended Alkire tuning on it, and it is the first time I'm experimenting and so far, thrilled with the tuning. It really opens up the possibilities since the bottom four strings are this nice triad and from an interval perspective, the same as the top 4 strings of dobro. and it gives me the same E to E as a standard Guitar. You can get some nice alternating bass lines going. Just started scratching the surface.

She's a beauty bill, and Sonny is one of the good guys. Sonny believes in the Keyless designs the same as i do. He does a good job.
Bill, what pickup did you have sonny put on?

Your guitar is beautiful and deserves an equally nice case...how nice it would look nestled in crushed velvet!

Great to have you experimenting and on a 12 string. I love your journey Bill. Look forward to seeing how you approach the journey.
Beautiful guitar. Well done.
