I finally achieved my lifelong dream of playing steel. Sadly I have nowhere to keep a truck.

I've driven bobtail since I was about 18. When the SLV spud harvest starts in a couple weeks, I'll attempt to get a snapshot of me in my turnip truck and post it.

All my hauling was permit loads.
I had a 4 axle tractor and a 4 axle trailer.
My heaviest load was Terex TS24, twin engine scrapers.
They would weigh up around 100,000 lbs.
A light load would be a Cat D9! :whoa:

After 25 years of playing on the road, I found myself driving one of these when my gig with Tanya Tucker ended abruptly. I drove them for years then tried an 18 wheeler for a year and a half and wound up back on this again. All in all things could be a lot worse, had some very interesting people as passengers!Image[/img]
I thought Nashville was the roughest, but I know I’ve said the same about them all.

I did. In stages. A hostler backed in the rear trailer (it was there when I got to the yard). Then I backed the dolly up to the rear trailer, then I went looking for the front trailer, and backed it up to the dolly.

You can always tell a truck driver steel player.

They're the only ones that play wearing mudflaps....
