Broken A pedal
What do you do when yor are playing E9th and the A pedal isn't working? This happened to me so I tried playing with no pedals. For some reason I found this to be too difficult. Then I tuned the E's down to D# and played it like a 6th tuning and that worked a little better, but not much. What would be your solution to this situation? Any comments appreciated.

Taking Jack's approach even further - at least on an all-pull guitar - why not disable the E-to-F# raise on the C-pedal by backing off on the tuning nut for that pull to the point where string 4 doesn't raise anymore? That at least would give you the regular A-pedal change, Day-style, on string 5. Although I use C, I find A more critical.

That happened to me years ago in a bar. I just flipped my steel over, tied 3 legs together, reached back and got my allen wrench and fixed it. I jumped up and raised my arms and all the cowboys cheered.<font size="1" color="#8e236b"><p align="center">[This message was edited by Rick Nicklas on 09 September 2005 at 07:36 AM.]</p></FONT>
