String Raises or Lowers

Post by John Bechtel »

Here's another unimportant curiousity on my part, but; just for the sake of discussion, who either [Raises] the ‘same string’ or [Lowers] the ‘same string’ the most times with their current pedal setup? (I guess more than 3-times would be the unusual # here!)

On my Fessy, I raise both the fifth and sixth strings three times and lower twice. Total of 38 pulls on one neck and it could hold a few more. Image

Sierra Session S-14, 8+5+Locklever: 39 pulls total.

4 raises on string 5: A pedal B-C#, C pedal B-C#, pedal 7 B-C#, split-tuning raise B-C (A pedal with LKV)
3 lowers on string 2: D#-D (RKR), D#-C# (RKL), D#-C# (lock lever)
3 lowers on string 8: E-D# (RKL), E-D# (lock lever), D#-D (pedal 6).

The Sierra has a 3R/2L changer without split-tuning screws. The additional pulls (4th raise, 3rd lower) are "tandem pulls", a Sierra specialty.

C'mon, guys, beat me! Image
