Dan Dowd was a steel player and also a steel guitar builder from Paducah Ky as I recall.
Nice fellow, good craftsman and smooth player. I remember him playing some of the conventions and regional shows. Particularly Fred Layman's Kentucky Classic. Always enjoyable.
I believe Dan passed away a few years ago.

I should have kept that guitar...it was drop dead gorgeous, and it had the tone out of this world... Fessenden mechanics .... I sold it to the player who then complained pedals were too close to the ground, and pull rods were not fastened to the bell cranks, but just hooked (its a Fessenden duh) ... even tho guitar was just serviced and adjusted by Tyler Hall at SGN ... go figure ...Russell Adkins wrote:That's a nice steel Dimar, keyless my favorite , thanks for the pic

Very nice looking guitar, Damir. Great pictures too.
I understand a lot of builders share the same parts.
