to help these guys....If your in the north Florida area or near a phone ...I have the numbers of the two best technicians in the steel business...As far as work or repairs are concerned..these fellas are the best I've run across in a long time...I've had my Zum well in excess of 20 years and the only two people I've let work on my guitar are myself and its maker.....But I have found Leon Roberts and Albert Johnson....Albert just finished a pair of speaker Cabs for me....The best sounding and looking boxes for the buck....Go ask Doug Jurnigan how he likes his and then ask me..As for guitar repair and refurbishing,
Leon Roberts has the touch.. he installed a few knee levers for me as if it were his own guitar,,I can't ask for more then that..There is a lot of personal touch that goes into each project....So for Cabs and cases talk to Albert ...for guitars..Call Leon.There services are priced right...The detail is flawless...

Jack you are right on, I saw a Shobud professional Leon rebuilt, and it is drop dead wonderfull. He replaced everthing underneith and I wish you could see it, a brand new guitar, refinish from brown to a color, I thought i would never say that because i love my brown one so much, but it will never change.
Don't tell Bobbe Seymour about us saying a rebuilt Shobud is great, he may have heart problems.lol

He could put a possum in a "Farris-wheel" hampster cage, mount an old lawnmower wheel on the axle and put the pickup on the side of the wheel.

Jack, we really enjoyed spending the afternoon with you. Having the stock ZumSteel parts made it a straight forward operation. Bruce defiantly has his ducks in a row. I’m always very cautious about drilling new holes in a guitar. You know the old saying, “Check four times and drill once”.
I would like to say that Albert Johnson is a far better steel guitar technician than me. I’m more or less a Sho-Bud junky. Albert was giving me a little “left seat time” the other day. Albert works wonders on any guitar and especially an Emmons push/pull. He machines out knee levers that look just like factory issue. He has also machined out the tops of my Sho-Bud changers from 6061 aluminum. We now have Dana Flood as a resident of Albert’s shop. I have seen Albert Johnson and Dana Flood restore a couple of trashed Emmons push/pulls to like new condition. They have also put quite a few marginal push pulls back to optimum playing conditions.
