Visit to Dr. Bowman

Post by Jody Sanders »

I brought Dr. Bowman two patients today. Another arrived by truck shortly after. I have been playing , teaching, and promoting steel guitar for 61 years , and you would think I was well versed in the workings of a pedal steel. Dr. Bowman never ceases to amaze me as to his knowledge of the mechanics of a pedal steel. I always learn something new every time we visit. Thanks to Dr. Bowman, I was able to bring my "main patient" home with me. Jody.

I have one in the Dr. office as well. Can't wait til Dr. B. does his magic. Speaking of Dr. B...I know he would welcome your prayers as he has been a little sick and in need of a Dr. himself.

Bobby said he would fix my Zum with a chain saw, but I hope he gets better anyway. I'm still enjoying that cd. My best wishes, Bobby, get well.

The Doctor was feeling much better. The drenching he got last Sat. nite set him back a little, but he is doing better. Jody.

Thanks to all for your concern. I went and spent a little over 4 hours in the emergency room Thursday night/Friday morning and finally gave up, so I came back home. There were folks in there that had been waiting for 7 hours or more. The room was packed with about 100 people and everyone was very restless over the situation. I talked with one ambulance driver and he said it was like that all over town
I have had a bout with this crud that's going around all over the country for almost three weeks now and yesterday a pretty good swelling came up on the right side of my face just in front of my ear from the sideburns down into my neck. It doesn't hurt, just feels a little tight. My wife insisted that I go to the emergency room, so I did.
I'll call my doctor Monday if it's not any better.
I apoligize to all of you waiting on your guitars. Heck, I only have 10 here to be worked on! I just have not had the stamina to work more than about 30 minutes on guitars without a long rest period.
However,,,I still have the handy "fix 'er up" chainsaw ready for all guitar emergencies. Image!
Thanks again and God bless,
BB

Dr Bowman. That's a good title for you.

The good Dr worked over my new Emmons LeGrande III recently and it now plays like an Emmons should... Very smooth and what a sweet sound!

I especially enjoyed hearing Bobby's Son sing at the Steel Guitar Convention in Dallas. What a nice moment for two very deserving gentlemen.

Dr. B -
Worked on my Hughey LeGrande III, the one we call "The Key" and after getting it back home our VP in the OSGA sat down to it and said "this plays very Zummish"! 'nough said.
