Help Me With My Sho-Bud's History

Post by Al Carmichael »

I have a Sho Bud. Its a Universal 12. I believe the model # is a 6160, and it was originally ordered by a friend of mine around 82-84 and eventually became my steel. It has seven pedals and four knee levers.

So, in the evolution of the Sho-Bud, what model or version (Pro I,II,III etc) would this guitar fit into? I really love the guitar, but I don't know a thing about its history. The Sho-Bud site I checked out mentioned it, but didn't really put it into any category. Could anyone help me understand exactly what I have here? I'd post a picture, but I don't see a way to add an attachment. I'd appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks!

Al, according to this site: http://www.shobud.org/models.html it's listed as a 12 string Pro I. All the later model single frames, both S10 and S12 were Pro I's I believe...that is all of them except the Maverick.

Thanks Lem. Unlike some that have the model name on the front, mine just says Sho-Bud, so I didn't really know.

It fits into the "Pro-II Custom" era of the very late '70's version...
