Resistance of E9th and C6th P/P pickups?

Post by Peter »

I have 2 single coil pickups that came off an Emmons P/P guitar.
One reads about 15k ohms, the other one about 16k ohms.

Which one came off the E9th neck and which one came off the C6th neck?

Any help appreciated.

The lower resistance usually creates a brighter sound, which is usually preferred for E9, so I'd guess the 15KOhm was E9 and the 16 was C6. Both would most likely be bright for 'today's sound'.
