Can Anyone I.D. the Maker?

Post by John Wheeler »

Does anyone know who the maker is of this dual deck 10 string pedal steel?
I picked it up at an estate sale. It has been disassembled and I'm not able to find any manufac. marks. Please refer to attached photos. It has KLUSON Deluxe tuners. (6 have been replaced with Fenders) Thank you

The guitar looks like a Miller to me. I have one and have had a much older one. Can you post an underside shot? The fret boards do not look like the ones on mine. My older guitar had Sho~Bud fret boards, so I don't know what the originals looked like.

If you get it to play right, and in tune, you will be amazed by the tone.

A big thanks to you who responded to my question regarding the make of the pedal steel. It was totally disassembled and in rough shape with several parts missing and your thoughts that it may be a Miller helped me to decide it wasn't worth restoring for my purposes.
Since I build laps and cbg's as a hobby, I've decided to make a couple of steels utilizing some of the parts.
Thank you Paul and Rick!

Let me know when you are ready to determine what parts you'll keep, and those you might sell. I might be interested.

I'm sorry to have missed the questions from Lee and Rick as I've been away.
I see the question asking what a CBG is ( cigar box guitar ) has been answered by Donny.
Rick, I will let you know if any of my parts aren't needed.
Thank you all for your assistance.

I'd say 70's model Miller maybe. Some of the Millers had different features than others and over time they changed up a little.
