C6: Lowering the 6th string from E to D
I've just added this change on my C6 vertical knee lever and looking for interesting voicings and things to do with it. I know I can use it for stacked 4ths by playing strings 6, 5, and 3. Other suggestions?
Thx,
jc

Jim-Well good for you. Reece showed me that about 30 years ago. Many uses for it.
I also use the 5th string G to F that I learned from Reece's tuning. It resolves some suspended chords, both together goes into the subdominant. 6th string,the E to D gives a D7 with P5 and the 5th string G to F gives a 7th with P 6. The 5th string G to F also gives a nice Subdominant major7th.
I use these a lot when playing melody in the lower strings.
A guy as talented as you, will no doubt see all the possibilities and ramifications of these pulls in no time at all. I put them on knee alternate levers, so I can use them together at times....Happy Holidays...al

Just wonderin? Is there any reason for not lowering 7th string C-B at the same time on the LKV. That would give a D6 tuning on the 8 lowest strings w P5 and KL 3rd str C-B
W P5 LKV and KL(3rd str C-B) = D F# A B D F# A B E D
Without the 7th string lower on LKV it would look more like a sort of D13 tuning. Something to think about?

Jim, play the intro to 'night life' and on the last chord, instead of playing the major 9th from string 9 through 4 with no pedals, substitute with your new change and add pedal 7. Strum from string 9 through string 4 (or 3 also for that matter to get the 13th augmented 11).
It ends up just stacking a 2 major chord over a 6th, but I love that chord. The theory experts can jump in here, but I guess it's 9 over 6 add augmented 11th.
*Well, my idol, Mr. Beavers, posted while I was still typing, and he's right on it. It stacks a 5 over 4, or a 2 over 1, depending on the key center.
