MSA bellcranks

My 76 MSA Classic D-10 seems to be populated almost entirely with 2 hole bellcranks rather than 4 hole. Also there is no center support for the cross shafts. I wonder if this guitar wasn't re-assembled from someone's spare parts?

I have a '76 S-10 with a 3&4 E9 setup. It has a total of six 4-hole bell cranks, with all but two of those directly connected via pull rods to the changer. I'm afraid I can't say anything about the C6 neck on an MSA.

In most cases the two hole bellcranks are fine. As the pull rod gets farther from the cross shaft, the harder the action is anyway. My Classic SS doesn't have a center support either, with the 3/8" diameter shafts, it is hardly necessary.

I've been trying to even out the pedal travel on the A, B, and C pedals. A moves about 1/4, B about 1/2, and C about 3/4 inchs respectively. Maybe I'm doing something wrong here?

Chuck, have you adjusted the pedal rods so that, at rest, the A pedal is higher than the B, and the C pedal is lower then the B? Most seem to prefer the A pedal higher anyway. When the pedals are down, they will be level and feel comfortable. That may do it for you. Good Luck.

Thanks Jeff, Darvin, Bill. I Moved the pull pins on the 'A' pedal up next to the cross shafts, lengthened the pedal travel, and adjusted the pedal height. It's almost there, just needs a little more tweaking to balance things out.
