Post by Jimmie Martin »

i have a shobud d-10 8&4 pro2, custom, model 61 inspected by d. marrs. i got it from the original owner. it has grover keys, wide pedals, raised fretboards. everything about it is great except the ends and around the pickups and changers they are tarnished. what should i ask for it. and does anyone know the year. there abouts.

A fairly simple solution to remove the tarnish, that involves a little work, is rub it out using a white polishing compound, like the stuff used to rub-out (polish) automotive paint. Available at most auto part stores. Your guitar is probably early '70s, and in my opinion, the best one that Sho-Bud made.

"A picture is worth a thousand words" If you could post a couple of pic's, one of the topside and one of the undercarriage I'm sure Ricky Davis or one of the other Sho-Bud experts could tell the year (approx.)that it was built.

WEll if it is a Sho~Bud "The Pro~II "CUSTOM" than they were pretty much in full swing in 1976-77: BuT you have one of the first "Custom" made as they only had the wide pedals that first year> very late 1975-early '76> then they went to narrow slick-top pedals but still with curved headstock and curved knees; but square front. Then when the SuperPro came out later 70's; the customs took on the Superpro features....and we won't go into that..ha...
Worth??? Well how much do you want for it???>h.a..
I've seen them sell from 1000.00 to 2000.00 bucks depending on the condition underneath and looks and playability and more....>so that's a ball-park I guess..

Robert I sent you an email explaining the problem with attachments to and from your yahoo account. And gave you an optional email for me to send to....hopefully that will work. Are you wanting to sell your Sho~bud?? Or what do you want to do with pictures on here and where?
