New Williams Bell Cranks

Post by Bobby Lee »

Williams is now using a 7-slot extruded bell crank instead of the older 5-slot machined crank. Very nice design! This gives more control over the balance of the pulls.

Also, Bill tells me that his crossover patent has finally been granted. Image

I hope to see one of Bill's crossovers @ St Louis this year. I'm surprised W Pauly's D10 crossover is still for sale here on the forum? What do you think of your new D12 b0b?
Can't do much better than that I'd say!

I love my new Willy, Doug! There's another topic in this section with pictures.

The extrusion holds the rod more firmly than the machined bell cranks did. Bill is constantly improving his designs.

I saw Bill's crossover mechanism last year at ISGC. Not only does it work like a charm with what seems to be a minimum of parts, it's actually beautiful to watch the changeover. Image
