Bobbe Seymour's Guitar Collection ??????

Post by Ron Whitworth »

Hello All;
I was just wondering if anyone here knows what ever happened to Bobbe Seymour's big collection of steel guitars that he had?

I do not know how many he had but it has been said to be quite a few.
The last I had heard after he passed away that everything was tied up in court.

Just curious - has the guitars been sold off?
Thanks for anny answers you can provide.
Ron

I heard that his last girlfriend took control of the estate and what happened to the instruments, vehicles, et al. is history.
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

According to reliable sources Bobby's care giver (not a girlfriend) contested the will and his estate is tied up in court. I imagine that includes instruments. Slightly different but very similar to Herb's understanding but close, very close. :D :D

Thank You Herb & Bill.
I thought that it would be done by now & thru the court system..

I knew it was balled up into a big mess.

That is sad.
We all know she does not want or need the instruments.

Thanks to you both. I appreciate your answers.
Thanks .. Ron

Well although I do not recall her name, I met her a few times, even went to lunch with them one time. Bobbe appeared to have great care for her. Is it entirely possible that he wanted her to have his possessions ?

I dunno.

But I have seen families argue for years over estates even with Wills ! Then never speak to each other ever again after the estate was finally settled . All over one house worth $125,000. Don't ask how I know this :(

Bobbe didn't have much luck in love, all of his women I met were gold diggers, there may be an exemption, but I must have never met that one...

Wasn't he also a producer?
That's where the money is.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

From what I understand, Bobbe was a jack of all trades. At one time he was a studio owner as well. I believe Bobbe had multiple income streams. Could be that unlike most musicians, he might have been a decent financial manager  ! Until the court records are available, it's all just speculation.
