Post by Bryan Staddon »

Hi does it matter which jack is used on a sho bud volume pedal, mine are not marked and it seems to work the same either way,

Unless it's been messed with in the intervening decades, guitar to the front, amp to the rear. If you take the access cover off, the output comes off the middle lug of the pot.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

If you run it backwards, you'll hear it gets a bit darker.

The signal will pass through the pedal either way on both mine. Guitar cable to the front jack, rear jack is to the amp. I used a sharpie marker to eliminate the confusion. G-guitar, A-amp.

It passes both ways, but it colors the tone differently when the input sees the wiper.

Thanks everyone ! The forum always gets an answer, Lane you are all over this forum with tons of helpful info, thanks for helping me learn a lot of stuff, and it does seem a little darker backwards, I like the dark but that could be because I'm from Buffalo.ha
