My new Milkman, with pics

Post by Lane Gray »

It got here quick and pretty.
Ordered it in the blonde and wheat, with the Telonics 12 inch speaker.
Sounds utterly amazing as expected. Were I strictly an E9th player, I wouldn't even have bothered hooking up the extension cabinet. But I kinda like the additional depth of the extension cabinet with the 15.

Image
On the back panel is the switch for the power and the series switching for the extension cabinet. Down is for the internal speaker, and in the up position the two speaker jacks are in series so I have an 8 Ohm load

Thanks to Tim Marcus and the lovely Denise

Congrats on your Milkman.

Is that the Half & Half?

How is for taking pedals to add some grit and/or boost?

It is the Half and Half.
I've not plugged my effects in front of it yet.
I'm sure it will be most excellent at it.

Love this color and configuration. What does that toggle on the back panel do? Change OT impedence?

I believe the impedance is automatically switched/detected.
The switch energizes the extension jack, in series with the main jack.

Lane, if my memory serves me right you are a big endorser of the little izzy even with tube amps. Just wondering what you think about it with the milkman? I have a half & half and can't decide wether I like it better with or without. Any help with settings on the amp with or without little izzy would be greatly appreciated. I have the 15 inch version and seem to be able to find the sweet spot in my practice room but still struggle with tone on stage with a full band. Thanks for any help you can give. Joe

I think you might be happier with the Izzy AFTER the volume pedal.

I'm finding the reverb tone knob is GREAT for taming the sharp edge of my tone. And I'm THRILLED with it.

Lane, that's pretty much how mine is set up as well. And it gives me the flexibility of using different speaker cabs. Congratulations on your new amp, I know you'll love it.

I didn't have time to put it through its paces, as I was in a hurry yesterday. But the Milkman is the amp here, http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=290698

Sounds great with 6 strings. I'm sure it'll sound amazing with 10! Congrats on the new amp.

I've got the same amp in 2-tone waiting forlornly until my Encore arrives.
