64 Fender 400 with the wrong pedals ?

Post by basilh »

I think that this guitar is wrongly described !!
Surely the chrome pedals belong to the earlier model 400 with the Jazzmaster style pickup and the Mk1 mechanism ?

Most of the changes happened in mid '64. This is probably an early '64 model, which incorporated all of the major changes except the cast pedals of later models. (I actually prefer the older stamped-steel pedals.)

That case looks right for an earlier model, too.
