Me one too! In fact, if somebody would put together a book of alternative approaches to common chord progressions, I would buy two just to thank them. Chord books alone don't really do the job -- you need to see the combinations that provide the voice movement. In fact, I'll take a book of nothing but II-V-I progressions in major and minor keys.

Ditto. My theory's too week to work out the possibilities. Can anyone give some standard moves in C6th? Thanks!

Although it's not exactly what you're asking for, Herby Wallace' C6 material has a wealth of such variations tucked away within his arrangements. I've stumbled on a few gems in there!

Thanks, Herby....

Doug Jernigan has a book that I have been using with lots of tunes in it. It has realy helped. Also, Jeff Newman has a c6th course as well.

Jeff's Jazz http://www.mightyfinemusic.com/jeff's_jazz.htm

is the most valuable steel site I've seen in terms of raw info for the C6.

For those of you that have any six-string prowess, or even familiarity, there are a wealth of great books on just that subject aimed at guitarists. A great place to start is the long-in-print Mickey Baker's "Jazz and Hot Guitar"- lots of chord subs, and cheap too.

Stephen,
re ii/V7/I jazz voicings- Jamey Abersold has a
good 2 CD/book available that just concentrates on all the jazz type variations of this progression. of course, it's not in tab, but
its real good stuff.

Herb Steiner has a good C6th chord book. Just a few bucks and it's loaded. Just got one a month or so ago. Highly recommended.
