At what point does your amp weight get complaints from your back?
I know everyone's threshold is different. Mine is about 45lbs.
To write with a broken pencil is pointless.

It helps to have a comfy handle....
Red Emmons D10 fatback #2246D with sweet Hugh Briley split cases, Black Emmons S10 #1466S, '73 Fender "Snakeskin" Twin Reverb, Peavey Nashville 400, Line 6 Pod XT, Fender 400, Fender Stringmaster Double-8, too many guitars, one bass!

Best maximum amp weight for each person = 100 - (your age)

Up to age 35, a Twin reverb is just fine....now I'm playing a Milkman Half and Half (30 lbs)

Lately, the amp seems to be gettting heavier. I dunno, maybe it's just me. 8)

But then...almost no amp I've ever seen has a "comfy" handle. The plastic-covered steel strap handle most of them use is cheap-cheap-cheap. You never see that kind of garbage on military equipment.

Most of my amps are in the 60 to 70 pd. range. I can still hump them around my studio or out to my Van If
the occasion requires. Thanks to years of working in
the construction trade I,m still pretty fit at 74.

I used to carry a Session 500 in one hand and a 10&10 D-12 MSA Classic in the other, so I guess as long as they were close to the same weight, I was okay. Nowadays, everything goes on a Rock N Roller cart.

Tubes definitely get heavier as they age, and so do speakers..
...my tweed bassman is at least 30% heavier than when I bought it 20 years ago.
If my wife is reading this, I don't have much stuff....really!

50lbs is about it for me.
Speaking of handles, I'm a fan of the Fender "Dogbone". quite comfortable, robust, and not so bad aesthetically. The leather ones are comfortable but most never last long.
Up north, below 20degs the Fender/Peavey rubber coated straps stiffen up to the point you can't get your fingers through them without some effort.

Age 40, and I estimate my Pro Reverb weighs about 80lbs. I hate carrying that thing but I don't plan on parting with it anytime soon.

Ah, the price we pay for good tone. For me, the heaviest amp is my Vibroverb clone. Just under 50 lb with a neo 15 and a beefed up OT. My next heaviest is a Ken Fox Vintage at 40 lb. Both of these amp sound great, so I am willing to haul them. A dolly helps, but the lift in and out of the trunk is still taxing on the back. Must do it correctly.

I once borrowed a buddy's Musicman HD212 for a couple of years. It had the huge magnet EV 12" speakers in it and it weighed 115 lbs. He nicknamed it Sasqwatch.
