Need Advice on Emmon's PP Knee Lever Change
My Emmon's PP 12 string currently has the RKL raising 1 and lowering 6. I would like to raise 7. Should I eliminate the lowering of 6 and change to the 7 raise? Or, should I keep the lowering 6 and add the 7 raise, making a total of 3 changes on one knee lever? The RKR lowers 2 one half and a whole tone. I want to add lowering 9 to this pedal. Should I add a vertical knee for raising 7 and leave lowering 6 right where it's at? What would give me the best combinations? My left knees are standard lowering and raising E's. I sure would like some opinion's on this. Thanks.<FONT SIZE=1 COLOR="#8e236b"><p align=CENTER>[This message was edited by George Kimery on 14 September 2003 at 06:51 PM.]</p></FONT>

George,
This is sooooo very subjective I am hesitant to say. But here goes.
I would NOT put the raising of 7 on the knee lever that lowers 6. I would put that change on a separate knee lever. Also, I would take that 1st string raise (if it raises the first string a half a tone) off your present lever and add that change to the new knee lever.
If you are raising your 1st string a whole tone with your present RKL, I would leave it alone and add a half tone raise on the first string with your new lever IF you are only raising the 7th string a half a tone.
IF you want to raise your 7th string a whole tone, then I would raise the 1st string a whole tone with it on the new lever and free RKL so it only lowers the 6th string a whole tone.
I would add the lowering of the 9th string a half tone with your present RKR that lowers your 2nd string to a C# with half-stop.
May Jesus help you with your needs,
carl

George,
I agree with Carl. I wouldn't put my (LOWER 6 & RAISE 7) on the same knee lever. If you want both changes, I'd recomend putting the (7 raise) on a separate knee. I switched over one time and tried the (7 raise). Bobbe Seymour recommended it to me, but I liked having the (6 lower) better. I use it for more things so I switched back. It's just whatever you're used to.
