Quilter Steelaire question...

Post by Ray Frady »

I'm thinking of getting a Steelaire Combo. My Nashville 1000 stays in the shop more than not. My question is, I play my steel and acoustic guitar in church, when I play my acoustic, I turn the volume off on the amp so I don't feedback, but still send my signal through the direct out to the board. Will this amp do that?
Thanks

I asked Pat Quilter about this and this is his reply

"The way to meet this customer’s need is to use the FX Send line to the board. This is pre-Master, so the Master can be turned down to silence the amp (or cracked open to confirm signal is present, etc) without reducing Effects Send. The Direct Out is post-Master so it will go away with zero Master setting.
The FX-Send is a line level signal but unbalanced, so it is not guaranteed to be hum-free, but it should be OK in a reasonably well grounded environment (console and amp on same circuit if at all possible). A line-to-line Direct Box should conclusively resolve any hum.
Pat Quilter"

I hope this helps~~ Jim
