how to research a Sho-Bud's history
How do you get historical info on older Sho-Buds? I've run across an S-12, model 5160 (perhaps 6160), serial # 8540. Plays nicely, just curious about age, general assessment of how good the mechanics are, etc. Thanks, steelers!

In addition to Bobbe, I would contact Duane Marrs in Madison, TN. He was there from the late 60's through the early 80's.

He's probably the foremost living expert on Sho-Bud guitars.
If you're ever thinking about selling that 12-string keep me in mind. It's one brand I've never owned that I've always wanted to. They didn't build a lot of single-12's.
