Emerson Custom pedals - you gotta try the concord buffer!

Post by Tim Marcus »

I had the good fortune to get some of these Emerson pedals this week. I think that steel players would really dig the EM Drive and especially the Concord buffer.

I used the buffer last night on a session with my Williams and L120 volume pedal and I was very impressed. Usually buffers make me swan dive over to the treble knob on the amp to adjust it - but this buffer remains balanced sounding. It subtly cleans up the steel and does not add the tinny stuff up top. Just smooth and clear. I think they sell for $80

The EM drive is kind of cool - it just adds a tiny little amount of dirt. Notice there is no tone knob! The pedal has a lot of gain too - could be used as a boost or one of those "always on" devices to make a clean amp have a bit more mojo.

I have not dug into the paramount yet - I will report back when I do!
