A serious question for ALL forumites

Post by Ray Montee »

I recently posted an instrumental on You Tube.

It came on-line with a 'shadow' or 'ghost' of the primary tune playing in the background.

Is there ANYWAY one can get rid of that secondary music without having to redo the same posting?

If not, is there a method for eliminating the entire posted song?

I felt more of you would likely see this post here as opposed to the computer section. Hope I didn't offend too many of you.

Apparently the file went funny when it uploaded.
I would delete that one and try again.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

Ray - Does the song have the"ghost" when you play it back as a file before sending it to youtube? It could be any number of things, including a bad upload as Lane said. I would make an MP3 as it is, and play it on a different computer or stereo. If it still "ghosts", it's something in the recording. Maybe the faders of the backing track or any number of things. If it sounds proper on another system, NOT the playback on the software you used to create it, then yes it's probably a bad upload. Just had another idea- did you use effects, possibly delay on the backing track? That would definatly create a "ghost". Hope that helps.
Glad to see your getting into recording.
A word of friendly advice - the KISS method is best, especially when starting out.Cheers -Bud

I haven't had that problem on YouTube. I recommend that you load it again and see if the problem recurs.

Moved to Computers section. Please use descriptive subject lines to save Forum bandwidth.

I've seen this problem when a web site auto-plays a song or a video, and then I click the link and it opens in another tab or window and starts playing again. It makes you think there's an echo going on.

Auto-play is evil. :x
