Data Recovery
What is the best software to retrieve deleted wave and mp3 files. They were deleted in July 2011.
Thanks,
Jerry

If the hard drive containing the deleted files has not been used much since that time, chances are good the files can be recovered by OnTrack, or a similar data recovery company. You have to send your old hard drive to them and they will recover as much as possible and send it to you on another drive, or the same on, or a DVD, or USB stick.
OnTrack also sells their own brand of do it yourself data recovery software. It costs $79 for home computer users.
Or, you can search out other brands of data recovery software and try doing it yourself.

Wiz,
Thanks for your reply, I am running a program right now called Recuva. Will post if it works, it has two hours left of checking files.

I know about Recuva. In fact, I have it on my PC, but forgot to mention it. Such programs are rarely useful for recovering lost data beyond a few weeks to months old. This is because operating systems reallocate previously "erased" sectors of disk space to store new programs and data files. Once a sector is overwritten, on a forensic specialist can recover the old data.
