Where do you guys that do such things buy your nuetrik cable connecters and what cable do you use ?

I have plenty of George L stuff but I'm looking for something new.

Redco is pretty good - also tubesandmore.com is probably a good choice because its in AZ so not too far to ship

Mouser is great - and in Texas - but the website can be overwhelming

And the Mouser catalog is about the size of the old catalogs that Sears used to put out back in the day. But if someone makes it, it's probably in there (if you can find it).

I bought mogami cables and amphenol
Plugs at tubedepot the cable was on sale at a very good price, easy to shop their site

Lava cable also sells cable by the foot and connectors as well. Very nice stuff.

Bob...I've used Canare cables with Neutrik connectors for about the last 8 years or so....Rick Price (Jake Hooker and The Outsiders) turned me on to them....I like them better than George L's and they cost less.....I get them from sellers on eBay using this search path....

musical instruments and gear>guitar>parts and accessories> search for "canare cables neutrik"....

Amongst solderless sets I found Planet Waves Solderless Custom Cable Kit to come out best in my set-ups.
Threw out a number of George L cables after having tested/compared similar length Planet Waves Solderless with them for a few months.

I use Canare GS-6 terminated with neutrik connectors. It's great cable, and it comes in several colors to match yur steel if you wish. I git it from Performace Audio in salt lake city utah. The cable tech there is Scott Simons. He knows more about audio cable, then the companies that makes it. Scott will fix ya up. I like George L cable soldered to Switchcraft plugs... but then, I like soldering. Leave slack in the center conductor!

I went with Canare cable and Neutrik connectors. A guy at the studio I was recording in today gave me a little tutorial on making my own cables. Pretty cool. I ordered the parts from marketek.

They need to be soldered.

I would have stuck with George L but I need a few angled connectors and the George L angled connectors never seem to work for me.

The reason George L angled connectors fail is because the screw threads often sever the shield of the wire (the ground connection)

It's a terrible design but if you are very gentle they will work pretty well

Soldered connections are the way to go

These cords and plugs are made by Core x2. I've used them for a number of years with no problem. They are solderless and unlike George L's, no problems with the angle plugs. Quite a bit cheaper also. Do a search on the internet for sources. You can buy a cable kit or plugs and cable seperately.

Tim the newer George L's Master Series right angled plugs are 100 times better than the standard RA's ...but I believe they have stopped making them which is hard to fathom ... I managed to get my hands on a few at Dallas this year and they are brilliant.

You can get the plugs from Musicians Friend and you can buy the cable direct from Core One. I think they are calling it Bullet Cable. In the past, I have bought direct from Core One when I needed something.
