Bob, thank you for offering this seminar.

New players should take advantage of this because so many of the older players had no one who knew anything about a steel guitar to help them when they first started to play.

It is my understanding this is open to all age groups---anyone who is curious. It is also my uderstanding that you DO NOT need to own a steel guitar to attend. (of course, if you DO own a steel guitar, please bring it!) All you need is a desire to learn more about the instrument, and this will be an opportunity to sit behind one, get a little "hands on", and learn a little and ask all the questions you like. If you bring your instrument, you can learn some answers to questions you may have and get a little help/encouragement so you can advance further, such as technique, song structure, ect.

Thanks guys for adding your comments! As usual I wear "ribbon of shame" for not adding ALL the particulars. I'm hoping alot of people take advantage of this free lesson chance and come out to our event. We are gonna open the Steel World up to people who still call it..."That thing on legs that sounds like a cat playing horns"? (not if it's done right) Image

Bob,

I don't know if I could make it to your seminar but if time constraints and cash flow allow I would like to come.

Do you allow visitors from places other then Oklahoma? Image I see the date and time posted but no location, where are you going to be?

John...C'mon down, we welcome any picker from anywhere,(even Razorbacks) Image we do not have a problem with any "drop ins" from out of state. As a matter of fact we have one member who is from Kansas, and another person from Arkansas might be comming. Hope you can make it. The directions are basically simple...go to OKC and head S on 44, at the last free exit (107) which is the Minco/Tuttle exit turn off go Right (west) for 12 miles to Tuttle Round-Up Club, which is on your Left across from the Football Field...Can't miss it. If you need any other info call at (405) 387-6063 or email myself or James and we'll hook you up in the right direction. tenstringin@wmconnect.com or saltydog@netcommander.com Hope to see ya there!

Actually Bob, that exit to Tuttle is 108. Unless John wants to exit at 107 and relieve himself of his money at the casino Image

Jim, I'd be glad to set up next to you and Gene. Don't mind me, I'll be saying little and listening a lot to YOU TWO!! If I knew one fifth of what you guys have forgotten, I could make a healthy living playing steel guitar!! Jim, I believe we could handcuff your hands to your pedal bar and make you play with your toes, and you could take me! Gene could, too, but he won't take his socks off! Image

Actually Ken, playing steel is a full contact sport. Two hands, two knees, two feet, then if you sing, too. It's also a weight lifting contest, too. Lift into the trunk, lift out of the trunk--repeat for 30 years. Image
