Playback Problem fixed. Close it up.

Post by Tony Dingus »

A friend of mine just got Cubase with an Alesis interface. He can't hear the playback through headphones or speakers. He also has Audacity on his computer, could that cause a problem even though it's not on ?

Audacity won't affect it.

That is usually a configuration problem on the output, either in the DAW (Cubase in this case) or a configuration problem with the routing in the audio interface unit.

e.g. I have both a Roland Octa-Capture and an MAudio Fastrack Ultra 8R audio interface units. Both have control programs with routing options. Same way in my DAW (Sonar X2), there are routing options for the output.

Tony,
I've got Cubase with Alesis interface. PM me and I'll try to walk you, or your friend, through it. It's usually one simple step but it can make you run down the street waving your hands in the air screaming. I'm not a digital head but I've run into the same problem. May be able to help.
