Last night, May 21, I published a blog article exposing a specific malware attack targeting Comcast customers. The email messages lead to a fake Comcast login page where customers may be tricked into handing over their credentials to cybercriminals.
When a specific person, or group of people are targeted in a phishing scam, it is called a "Spear Phishing Scam." This qualifies as such.
Thus, if you are a Comcast Internet Service customer and actually use one or more comcast.net email addresses, and they have been harvested in some manner, you may receive an email like the one I got last night. Read my article to become aware of the ruse and you will not be fooled into giving away the keys to your Comcast account and everything it contains.
Read the details about this email phishing attack targeting Comcast customers, here.
Interestingly, this article already gotten the attention of Comcast's Security Assurance Team, a member of which has contacted me for further details.
