Marty Stuart Last Night In Hanford,CA

Post by Andy Sandoval »

Judy and I went to see Marty Stuart last night at The beautifully restored Fox theater in beautiful downtown Hanford,Ca, What A Show!! Marty and the Superlatives put on a great two hour non stop show with Marty doin some wonderful solo guitar and mandolin stuff durin the bands break. Marty is a great entertainer and knows how to put on an excellent show. His band is made up of some very talented musicians that play and sound wonderful together, really tight with some harmonies that sound like heaven. Hillbilly, country, bluegrass, gospel and country, something for everybody. I admire Marty's commitment to keepin country alive. If you ever get the chance to see his show, don't miss it, you won't be disappointed.

I really like watching Marty Stewart's TV show. Was Gary Carter playing steel guitar for him at the concert?

Hi Richard, I had hoped to hear some steel guitar but I'm sure Gary was busy with other endeavors. Once they started playin I didn't really miss the steel although it would certainly have been the "icing on the cake" for me at least.

As far as I know, Gary Carter is a regular member of Connie Smith's Sundowners. Of course, Connie is married to Marty and regularly appears on Marty's show, therefore, Gary is there, too. However, I agree, one of the best bands ever and Gary is a great player.
