Jerry Byrd What is he playing?
I am just appreciating Jerry Byrd. It would be nice to find the best source for accurate information on this player. Did he play Pedal Steel? I have been following old post on the forum, but would like to keep my pursuit focused on his music.
Here is the video and is that a switch for pickups he uses on the end plate?

Jerry never played pedal steel. He played Richenbacher steel guitars for most of his career, and a custom built Sho-Bud (non-pedal) toward the end of his career. He played 22 1/2" scale length for his entire career. There are hundred of pages of info and discussion here on the steel forum and other sites via a Google search.

MANY THANKS Doug!
I appreciate your referral to the JERRY BYRD Fan Club site. It was very kind of you to do so.
By the way......there are new songs now posted on the HOME PAGE, Jerry's Music Page, and Rays' CD's.
Just tho't some of the folks might enjoy hearing them.

Doug, as an FYI, I've looked at that page on both a computer browser and on a mobile device (my iPad).Bill, the links are on the JB fan club main page, left side of the page
The left side links do not show up on an iPad. they do on a computer but not on an Ipad. If the OP was viewing the site on a moble device he wouldn't be able to see them.
Ray, you may want to alert your web designer that your site is not mobile device friendly.

THANKS Doug for the kind words.
I've found that many of the tunes that Jerry was featured on, on the KING Label, are exceptionally fine examples of JERRY's one-of-a-kind TONE.
Songs with Clyde Moody, Cowboy Copas, Zeb Turner and others are without doubt, are some of the finest TONE
examples that one might ever hear.
