Evertune Bridge

Post by Jan Viljoen »

Can this bridge or variation of it, be built into a pedal steel?

It keeps the strings in tune after bending.

6 string lap steel... Yes
Pedal steel... No

Check YouTube for recent 2013 NAMM show videos and you'll see why.

I would say no and it would be cost prohibitive.
Even on a solid bridge standard 6 string guitar when you bend one string the others are effected or go flat.
Holding pitch with spring tension even though adjustable I would think it would be cabinet drop times ten.
MSA 12 String E9th/B6th Universal.
Little Walter PF-89.

Thanks guys,

I saw it locally built into Telecaster copies and it looks ok.

One never knows when the next major improvement will come, technology waits for no one.

Steel on!
