SSSGC Saturday-Nite Steel Guitar Jamboree

Post by Roger Osbourn »

The Siloam Springs Steel Guitar Club will have a Saturday-Nite Steel Guitar Jamboree on February 18th at the Arkansas Baptist Assembly in Siloam Springs Arkansas.I'm starting to put the playlist together and I'll post the schedule here later. The show will start around 4 pm and run through 10pm.It just depends on how many slots are filled. This was to be our 3rd jamboree for the fall and winter season however the Hurricane Katrina evacuees put a halt to the first two. Finally we're back in business so come be with us.Admission is always "FREE".

Hey Roger, count me in. I may be a bit late 'cause I have to have to play and sing in a wedding at 1:00 in Ft. Smith, but I'll head on over after that. Always have a great time with you guys!

This is always an enjoyable jam. I hope a lot of you come early as I am first up and enjoy having a great audience as well as a visit with some of my friends before I have to leave for my regular Sat. night opry show.

Ya just never know who might show up at these things... I am thinking about making the trip down from St. Louis to check the boys out in Siloam. What better way to spend my birthday than soaking up some steel guitar!

Well Lana, you come right on down and we'll have a birthday cake ready for you. We'd be honored to put you up for the night in a room on the campus with some of our other guests. The club will buy you a good country breakfast on Sunday morning and we'll have a chance to visit.I know you will like everything we have to offer at the SSSGC.

That's a big 10-4 on Jerry Roller and the Newberry/Stewart team.I will have to confess.I put Jerry Roller on first for two reasons.(1)He has a Saturday night commitment at the "Little Opry"in West Fork,Arkansas that is a 45 minute drive from Siloam Springs.(2)The audience will show up early to hear him perform.Otherwise they will just straggle in.Now we hold Jerry and Austin last to get the audience to stay until the end.People stop me during the show and ask,"when is that little boy going to play"? Believe me,very few leave standing up,before our shows are over.Thank you Jerry Roller,Austin Stewart and Jerry Newberry for all your support of the SSSGC.

Okay then, only a couple of weeks a way. Would you send me directions and any additional information that I may need? I know 59 takes me into Siloam but how do I get to the show site?

I'm excited! If getting older means this kind of treatment - I just may have another birthday next year!

Lana;your going to the Arkansas Baptist Assembly located on Arkansas Highway 59 South. As you come into Siloam Springs heading West on U.S. Highway 412,you'll drive "under" a bridge.Immediatly turn right off 412 and continue turning right until your heading South over
the bridge you just passed under. That's Ark Hwy 59 that goes South to Van Buren. One mile ahead,on the right, you'll see a large white cement archway with the name "Arkansas Baptist Assembly".Drive down the lane and bear to the right and you'll drive right up to the auditorium.
