Agreed Steve. Randy's human like the rest of us...because he has celebrity status the media blow it up. If it was Joe bloggs no one would care.

Randy eviddently needs HELP. Let us all pray that he gets it. How many of us had to deal with an alcoholic in the Band including the Star of the Show.

I remember drinking a lot but I don't think I ever drove naked..But I don't remember much about that period  But maybe his air condition wasn't working.Or maybe he was wearing his new Nudie suit..He was scheduled to play here during the GOP convention..Hope that doesn't affect that..I think he can rebound after this, theres been a whole lot worse done by others..

I don't know who Joe bloggs is, but even if it were Joe Blow and reported in the news the story would have gotten my attention. :whoa:

I think I remember Randy going through a drying out period several years ago. If, in fact, he is an alcoholic, there's no recovery. Every day is a challenge and a struggle to not take a drink. Once done, it's a starting over process.

I feel sorry for him if that's his demon, but it's something he must deal with himself and afflicts many an entertainer.

Unfortunately, there is a long list of country musicians with that problem. From Hank Williams to Bob Luman and on to Keith Whitley. I also remember Lynn Anderson's problems recently...

Kind Regards, Walter

Randy has seen enough of the good side of life to motivate him to return there. Unless an adict wants help, those of us who try to help are doomed to failure.

Maybe he was just writing a hit song. Seems like I read that Keith Richards was naked and swigging on a Jack Daniel's bottle when he came up with the "Satisfaction" riff. But he probably wasn't alone.

Finding joy in the suffering of others seems sorta mean and crappy to me.

I'm kind of sad to hear of this. Obviously I've never met Randy Travis but he's always struck me as a person with a lot of decency but he continues to struggle with addiction and assorted demons. Apparently his demons have the upper hand at this point. I wish him well, his music has given me pleasure over the years. Oddly enough, when I first heard of this situation I thought of Andy Griffith and how he probably would have been disappointed to hear of it. I think there was some sort of friendship between the two. Randy appeared in an episode of Matlock and Griffith was reportedly a big fan.

just to put it in perspective, at least his drunk driving hasn't killed anyone yet.

i like randy as much as the rest of you, but the relatives of drunk driving casualties probably don't.

Exactly Chris. Sorry Randy is having troubles, but to place others in HIS harms way, is not acting responsible. Hope he gets help before there are 3 Wooden Crosses for real. :(

Can't argue with that, he needs to be off the road for sure.
