Swingin' West pre-empted this Friday

Post by Mike Gross »

Unfortunately, “Swingin’ West”, which is usually heard on Friday afternoons (1-4 Eastern) on both the Web worldwide and on FM in Connecticut, will be pre-empted on Friday September 9 because of special WVOF programming. All Western Swing and Steel Guitar requests for the Sept. 9 show will be played on the Sept. 16 show.

It is beyond my control and I regret any inconvenience that it might cause.

Mike, sorry to hear it's been pre-empted. This was one Friday that I'll be around to listen. Won't be able to next week as we will be setting up the stage for our 3rd Anniversary show on Sat, Sept 17th.

Jack and Don,

Thanks so much for your bump. I'll miss both of you on the 16th out there in the Internet audience but I am sure that you will be working hard to put together a wonderful show down there in the Sunshine State for all to enjoy starting Sept 17. Good luck with your sets but with your talent luck isn't necessary. Let's save the luck for a good gate.

As an alternative, check out John Schmitz's "Heyride" at 7:30 p.m. Central Time that same day (September 9). Tune in at kzum.org. John plays western swing and honky tonk, and has a half hour, usually at 8:00 p.m., devoted to the "Pioneers of Western Swing."

I am bumping up my own post as it is important for today that people don't tune in and wonder where the show is. It will be back next Friday at 1:00 PM eastern for the entire world to listen to and enjoy. In the meantime feel free to listen to the hour archived show always available on my homepage www.swinginwest.com

Thanks, Don & Jody! I really appreciate the kind words and I am really looking forward to playing the classic and contemporary Western Swing and steel guitar music for all, live next Friday afternoon. Today, you might want to listen to the recorded hour of "Swingin' West" right off my home page at www.swinginwest.com All you need is a real player connection. The hour of music starts after a two minute commercial. After that, there is just good music and chat about the music.
