The Hag: Happy 75th Birthday!

Post by Ron Page »

I must be slipping. My daughter had to remind me that today is Merle Haggard's 75th birthday.

Happy birthday to a true American music icon. Thank you, Merle, for over 40 years of nearly constant music enjoyment.

Ron to some of us it is closer to 50 years  Hag beat me to 75 but I hope to catch him in August..Just think Norm has been with him most of those years..Another fact that Hag can be proud of..He kept a lot of us working even if most never even met him.. What a catalog of songs..

Absolutely right, Joe. I've been a fan since 1968, when I was 12. Of course, he already had a Greatest Hits Volume 1 by then. My oldest brother spun that one up and I've been hooked every since.

As Norm explains it, he became the bandleader shortly after Merle hired him, and hasn't had the guts to fire himself.
