Just found a youtube audio link of 14 year old Doug Sahm singing. He sounds great! One of the still photos was a young Sahm behind the steel. Are there any known recordings of Doug on steel?

Interesting that Doug is pictured with his left foot on his volume pedal.Did (or do) a lot of players operate the VP left-footed on non-pedal steels? For that matter,how common was volume pedal use in the early days?
