Probably my favorite male country singer besides Charlie Pride. He put out some fantastic easy listening country material with great steel guitar on it.

My favorite is "Back to the Blue Room."

I know this has been posted before - but this is as good as it ever was - or ever will be:

I was friends with Wynn from when he was 14 yers old. My favorite was also "After The Storm" even though there was no Steel on the record, His singing IMHO was pure perfection.

My favorite would have to be "One More Memory" with that great steelwork by Ralph Mooney......JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

Billy:
I would have to agree with you on his singing but I have the original Playboy lp & 45 release and the Bear 10 cd set of Wynn and that song has steel in the second verse on all 3 versions that I have.

The singer I work with on a Tuesday Show, "Catfish" Johnny Galvin, was a personal friend of Wynn's and knew him from the west coast and Las Vegas. He does a lot of Wynn's songs including the "Does He Love You Like I Do" (we did it yesterday).

It's really a shame what happened to him. He is one of the all time greats to me. Up there with Jones and Haggard. Haggard said as much.

One of my favorites is "You Can Always Give Her Back To Me".

Another is "Wall To Wall Heartaches":

Actually, there are so many great songs the Wynn sang, wrote or both that its very difficult for me to pick just one or two, let alone a dozen or more.

Here' a live version of his hallmark hit "It's Such A Pretty World" with his pal's band the Buckeroos featuring Don Rich and Tom Brumley:

Keep on pickin'!
