Troubadours: documentary **NOT ET**

Post by Dave Zirbel »

Program: American Masters
Episode: Troubadours

American Masters continues its 25th anniversary season with Troubadours: Carole King / James Taylor & The Rise of the Singer-Songwriter, a first-hand account of the genesis and blossoming of this 1970s music movement, centering on King and Taylor's historic collaboration and the nightclub that nurtured a community of gifted young artists and budding critical and commercial sensations.

Sorry for the confusion guys. I changed the title of the thread to hopefully avoid more disappointment. :\

That's a great idea, a documentary on ET! :D

Put Marty Stuart in charge of that project, and you'd really have something! I think ET is long overdue for some recognition for all he achieved. It goes without saying,of course, that the Troubadours would have to be included. :)

Dave, changing the title of the thread to "Troubadour Club in L.A." has made all this even more confusing now, since the link takes us to the PBS special "American Troubadours" with Carole King and James Taylor.

The film is about singer/songwriters that got their break at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Much of the focus is on James Taylor and Carol King. Tough crowd...

Hi Dave,

When I read or hear the term Troubadour(s), the club in W. Hollywood is the first thing I think of.
I had an opportunity to listen to the first 5-10 minutes of it and enjoyed it – thanks!
