Biréli Lagrène is my personal favorite among all the new Gypsy jazz guys...and there are a slew of them now!
The thing I like about him the most is that he can play many other styles equally well. I've heard him play understated "Wes-like" jazz without all the pyrotechnics and plenty of tasteful blues based ideas. He even does an uncanny Jaco Pastorious imitation on fretless Fender bass. Probably cuz he used to play with Jaco when he was only 20. He was a true child prodigy who has never stopped growing musically as he matured.
There's a ton of stuff on Youtube (yeah!) of this monster player!
